In most respects, a vacation is a perfect time to eschew all types of digital stimulation; you are out and around, in an entirely new environment, and have far less exposure to the moments of boredom or distraction that leads you back to your screen again and again.

On the other hand, most of us know how helpful our devices are when traveling in an unfamiliar place. In fact, it could be argued that smartphone shifts from a source of distraction to a superb tool when navigating new cities, finding things to do and dealing with travel snafus.

This is the point that we enter the equation and provide you with a simple mobile phone (calls &  SMS only), printed maps, lists with all the necessary travel information and a disposable waterproof camera, so to make real-life longlasting memories. So, we highly recommend you to leave your smartphone in your suitcase. (at least while you are out of the hotel)

Highlights:

  • Athens
  • Iraklia
  • Schinoussa
  • Koufonissia
  • Donousa

Depending on the time of your arrival in Athens, we will arrange for you a mouth-watering meal of local cuisine.  After that, your trip to the Small Cyclades island complex will start from the port of Piraeus.

1st Island: Iraklia - The ultimate shelter! (2 nights stay)

Iraklia dominates between Ios, Naxos, and Koufonissia! It is the westernmost inhabited island of the small Cyclades complex. The ones who visit it can enjoy its crystal clear waters, its rich seabed, the absolute tranquility and of course relaxation.

It has 151 inhabitants and consists of two villages: Panagia or Chora and Agios Georgios. It has ten beaches but only three are accessible by car. Livadi beach is considered to be the best among them. It is a long sandy beach overlooking the island of Venetiko and Schinoussa.

Accessibility to Agios Georgios beach is easier. The waters have a beautiful blue-green color, ideal for underwater exploration. You may also consider visiting the pebble beach of Turkopigado but keep in mind that you will have to walk about half an hour from Panayia to reach it.

For diving lovers there is Alimia. Below its salty waters, one finds a German plane crashed during the Second World War.

Relaxation and carelessness in Iraklia! In short ... vacations!

2nd Island: Schinoussa - When beauty meets peacefulness! (1-night stay)

Schinoussa is a quiet place with unique virgin beauties. With these words, you could characterize the island. It is one of the smallest islands of the Small Cyclades complex and in a very short distance from Naxos.

Its harbor, Mersini, is considered to be one of the best shelters for small boats across the Aegean Sea.

The villages of Schinoussa are two, Chora and Messaria. Chora, which is built on a hill, is just one kilometer away from the port of the island. The second village of Messaria is about 2,5 km from Chora. Everywhere the houses of the permanent residents are built according to the Cycladic architecture.

The natural beauties of Schinoussa are the ones that make it stand out from the rest of the small Cycladic islands. It has 18 beaches in total and most of them only have access from a dirt road.

Tsigouri is the most popular beach on the island. It is sandy and along the beach, there are many shade trees making it ideal for families.

Livadi, Tholari, Lioliou, Bazaiou, Pori, Almiros, Psili Ammos, Fikio, Gerolimionas are some of the beaches almost untouched by the human hand that is worth visiting!

3rd Island: Koufonissia - A terrestrial paradise(1-night stay)

Koufonissia consists of two islets, Ano and Kato Koufonissi, which are separated by a narrow strait.

Virgin beaches, crystal blue waters, natural beauty. The paradise undoubtedly is somewhere in Koufonissia. These islands are synonymous with carelessness and relaxation. The ones who choose them for their vacations will realize that all you need to have a good time is to get in the correct state of mind. There, nobody keeps track of what time it is. The time passes loose, calm and pleasant.

The picturesque village of Chora and the only one is just above the small harbor. It is a model of Cycladic architecture. Wandering among the whitewashed alleys is worth more than anything else.
The beaches of Ano Koufonissi are enchanting. The waters are blue and relatively shallow. It is said that the best is Pori beach while the most popular are the beaches of Harokopos and Platia Pounta.

Pori is a sandy beach and many consider it the most beautiful of all. Very close to it are the caves of Xylobati, Gala, and Cave "The Devil's Eye". It is definitely worth exploring.
The most crowded beach is Platia Pounta. The locals call it Italida (Italian) and so it useful to call it that way as well. Equally popular is the beach of Harokopou. However, the majority of tourists call it "Phoenix" because of the local business there. The waters of this beach are just great!

Koufonissia is ideal for those looking for a getaway away from the ordinary. It is a fact that in recent years they have been attracting many tourists from around the world. Koufonissia, despite the increasing number of visitors during the summer season, has managed to preserve its uniqueness!

4th Island: Donousa - Those who get to know it, fall in love with it! (2 nights stay)

Donousa along with Amorgos is the easternmost islands of the Small Cyclades complex. It is located east of Naxos and north of Amorgos. Its area is only 13 sq. Km. It may be a small island but with its own beauties.

The permanent residents are scarce and do not exceed the 170. The largest village and port of the island is Stavros. It is a picturesque village with whitewashed houses and an authentic Cycladic identity that enchants every tourist. This small village was thus "baptized" by the chapel of Timios Stavros (Holy Cross), located on the eastern side of the village. According to history, the first inhabitants of the village who built the homonymous church came from Amorgos. Other picturesque villages are Mersini, Haravgi, and Kalotaritissa.

Perhaps the most beautiful beach on the island is Livadi. In order to dive in the clear blue waters, half an hour of hiking is required. But it really is worth it!

Blue waters, white sand, and shade from cedars make up the backdrop of Kedros beach.

Do not forget to visit Fokiospilia. It is a submarine cave in which the dive is imposed!

Only a few know Donousa island and also a few are the ones who finally decide to visit it. But everyone who gets to know it, falls in love with it!
