The island of Ikaria according to the greek mythology took its name from Ikaros the son of Daedalus who landed on the island when the sun burnt his wax wings, the sea neighbourhood owes its name to that legend, as it is called Ikarian. The island is famous for its feasts during the summer season and its residents long life term. Apart from that, Ikaria provides numerous beaches, sandy or pebbly, popular or isolated with crystal clear waters.
To be more specific, some of the most famous beaches of the island is Magganitis which is a sandy beach surrounded by massive rocks which have been left after digging through the mountain to build a tunnel to the village. Another beach is named Armenistis which is very popular to the youth. Finally, Seychelles is one of the most beautiful beaches of our selection and its name is given from the locals.

Almost everyday during August, there is a different feast organized in a different village of the island either for religious or social reasons. People dance to sounds of good, folk, live music all the night living a genuine Ikarian experience. Except from that, due to the island's wild nature its a perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to try hiking. Locals used to walk from their villages to their farms, and so there are numerous paths to follow from moderate difficulty to very difficult ones.
